The Governor's visit to Mumbai featured a special dinner with Bollywood leaders, highlighting cultural exchanges and celebrating the vibrant film industries in Texas and India.

Acknowledging the significance of Bollywood movies in showcasing Indian culture, Governor Abbott expressed admiration for the heart and essence of these films. The evening in Mumbai included interactions with prominent figures in the Bollywood film industry, such as singer and actor Talat Aziz, accompanied by captivating performances from Bollywood dancers.

During the dinner, Governor Abbott underscored Texas' robust film industry, drawing parallels between Texans and Indians in their shared pride in exhibiting cultural heritage through cinema. The Governor's commitment to fostering cultural ties and economic collaboration was evident in his engagement with Bollywood leaders.

The delegation, which includes First Lady Cecilia Abbott and key officials, discussed critical issues and industries with a focus on technology's future during meetings in Mumbai. The first day of the mission involved meetings with influential companies. Infosys, a key partner for Texas, featured discussions about expanding their presence in the state. Governor Abbott emphasized the progress since his last visit in 2018, outlining the collaborative efforts between Texas and Infosys.

The economic collaboration continued with discussions with senior executives from Reliance Industries, where Governor Abbott highlighted the importance of strengthening oil and liquefied natural gas (LNG) trade between India and the United States.

The delegation also visited the historic Bombay House, the official headquarters of Tata Consultancy Services (TCS), for discussions on opportunities in manufacturing, aerospace, IT, and technology industries in Texas. The luncheon with Tata Sons Chairman Natarajan Chandrasekaran explored ways to enhance TCS's presence in the state.

Governor Abbott concluded the day with an economic development meeting with Wipro Chairman Azim Premji and other Wipro executives, focusing on mutual interests in knowledge-based industries such as cybersecurity, artificial intelligence, and cloud technology.
