Donald Trump Pledges To Combat 'Radical Marxist Prosecutors' In Massive Crime Policy Overhaul Proposal
Donald Trump |
In a video released on social media, former US President Donald Trump unveiled a massive crime policy overhaul proposal, pledging to combat what he calls "radical Marxist prosecutors" and restore law and order in America's cities. Trump accuses the Democratic Party, including Joe Biden, of defunding the police and gutting police forces, leading to a surge in crime and turning once-great cities into "cesspools of bloodshed." Trump's plan outlines seven measures to restore public safety, including investing in hiring, retaining, and training police officers, increasing vital liability protections for officers, and enforcing existing gun laws against convicted felons.
Trump also plans to insist that local jurisdictions return to "proven Common Sense policing measures" such as stop-and-frisk, which has been criticized for disproportionately targeting people of color. Trump also vows to go after "radical Marxist prosecutors" who are "abolishing cash bail, refusing to charge crimes, and surrendering our cities to violent criminals." He promises to direct the Department of Justice to open civil rights investigations into such prosecutors and work with Congress to give the victims of their policies the right to sue local officials for harm and suffering caused.
The former President also plans to order the Department of Justice and Homeland Security to dismantle every gang, street crew, and drug network in America and charge them with every crime that can be found. Trump also wants to impose the death penalty for drug dealers and human traffickers.
In cities where there is a complete breakdown of law and order, Trump promises to send in federal assets, including the National Guard, until safety is restored. He also plans to end the "leftist takeover of school discipline and juvenile justice," and protect the right of self-defense, everywhere it is under siege.
Finally, Trump promises to "take back our streets from the homeless, the drug-addicted, and the mentally ill" and discuss these plans in more detail soon.
Critics of Trump's plan argue that it will only exacerbate the problems of systemic racism and police brutality, especially against communities of color. Others argue that it does not address the root causes of crime, such as poverty, lack of access to education and healthcare, and systemic inequality.
In any case, Trump's proposal will likely continue to spark controversy and debate, and it remains to be seen whether any of these measures will be implemented.
