Former US President Donald J. Trump is coming to Florida today ahead of the November 8 midterm elections. He is expected to hold a rally in Miami in support of his endorsed candidate and special guest Senator Marco Rubio in Florida, where his endorsement record for 2022 is currently undefeated, 19-0.
Ahead of this Save America Trump rally in Miami, Rubio’s opponent, Democratic U.S. Rep. Val Demings, a former Orlando police chief, released a thirty-second television ad showing Donald Trump insulting Rubio during the 2016 presidential race.
Today, both Rubio and former President Trump are expected to continue to blame the Dems for inflation and for not being tough enough on immigration, and they will likely continue to commit to putting an end to the Congressional investigations into the Jan. 6, 2021 riots.
According to Donald Trump's website, the Nov. 6 "Get Out the Vote Rally" will be held at the Miami-Dade County Fair and Exposition. And as per media reports, thousands of Trump supporters are expected to attend this MAGA event to catch a glimpse of the former president and other GOP leaders.
Florida Governor Ron DeSantis, who is also seeking reelection and is battling Democrat Charlie Crist in the Florida gubernatorial race, will not attend this Trump rally.
Upon asking, DeSantis's campaign said that the Florida governor will be holding three events concurrently on Sunday further north – one in Sun City Center, a retirement enclave in south Hillsborough County, followed up by appearances in Sarasota and Fort Myers. Ron DeSantis has been rumored to be a potential 2024 presidential candidate.
Trump was in Latrobe, Pennsylvania, yesterday for a rally where he mocked Ron DeSantis. Trump promotes his new nickname as 'Ron DeSanctimonious'.
According to FloridaPhoenix, "President Donald Trump delivered a historic red wave for Florida in the 2018 midterm elections with his slate of endorsed candidates up and down the ballot and molded the Sunshine State into the MAGA (Make America Great Again) stronghold it is today," reads the statement from Save America, Trump’s political action committee. "Thanks to President Trump, Florida is no longer a purple state, it’s an American First Red State."
