The race for the U.S. Senate seat became open after incumbent Sen. Rob Portman, R-Ohio, decided not to seek re-election. JD Vance, who relied heavily on his Donald Trump endorsement to win the GOP Senate primary in May, will face U.S. Rep. Tim Ryan on Nov. 8, 2022, in what polls say is a very tight race.

Donald Trump's family has visited the Mahoning Valley, Ohio several times, the most recent being August 22, when Don Jr. came to Niles to campaign for state Rep. Mike Loychik and about 350 people attended that fundraiser.
According to the Covelli Centre, the Doors will open at 2 p.m. and special guest speakers will begin delivering speeches at 4 p.m. Donald Trump is scheduled to speak at 7 PM. Entertainment and concessions will be available throughout the day. Tickets are free on a first-come, first-served basis. Tickets can be obtained at donaldjtrump.com
