A massive crowd watches the Queen's coffin procession outside Westminster.
Today there are so many heads of state in London to attend Queen Elizabeth II's funeral. And London is now staging what's being called the biggest security operation in its history.
Around 2,000 mourners were in Westminster Abbey today for the state funeral of Queen Elizabeth II, including presidents, prime ministers, and foreign royalty.
But millions of people around the world saw the live stream, with the event likely to be one of the most watched in history.
Tens of thousands of people gathered in Hyde Park in London to watch Queen Elizabeth II’s funeral on large screens. As the service at Westminster Abbey began, the crowd watched in silence and also recited prayers with the congregation.
Officials are on alert for everything from pickpockets to potential terrorists. They're calling it the ring of seal that surrounds every single one of the key locations in today's funeral, and just about every street here is blocked.
A million people have arrived on the streets of London today. There were barriers down every single one of these streets; they were all blocked off. The famous big bend can be seen there. This is normally packed full of traffic, all off limits. There were around 1500 military personnel on the street. Sniffer dogs' CCTV said they were doing everything they could to make sure everything went smoothly.
This is the biggest police event ever, bigger even than the London Olympics in 2012 and the biggest in British history, so from protests to pickpockets to terror threats, they've got to have everything covered.
You may have seen on Friday night an individual who was lining up to see the queen rush her casket. Thankfully, he didn't make it there. He was brought down by the police and taken into custody. He's going to be in court today, but as far as the funeral is concerned, the police, the authorities, the security services, they're doing everything they can to make sure this goes off without a hitch.
So, the Westminster Abbey funeral drew a packed crowd of 2,000 global heads of state, including U.S. President Joe Biden, as well as family and select friends.
