शुभारंभ सत्र के बाद पहले सत्र में “टेलीविजन रिपोर्टिंग एवं एंकरिंग की चुनैतियां” विषय पर जाने माने टीवी न्यूज़ एंकर और पत्रकार अभिसार शर्मा ने नए विद्यार्थियों को टी.वी. रिपोर्टिंग का पाठ पढ़ाया। अपनी रिपोर्टिंग की क्लिपिंग दिखाते हुए उन्होने टीवी रिपोर्टिंग के कई पहलुओं को रेखांकित करते हुए कहा कि फील्ड पर जाकर ही ईमानदार टीवी रिपोर्टिंग की जा सकती है। अभिसार ने विद्यार्थियों के सवालों के भी जवाब दिए।

कार्यक्रम के दूसरे सत्र में “बदलते दौर की पत्रकारिता” पर प्रकाश डालते हुए द वायर की वरिष्ठ संपादक सुश्री आरफा खानम शेरवानी ने मीडिया की स्वतंत्रता पर हो रहे हमलों को लोकतंत्र के लिए खतरा बताया और इन खतरों से विद्यार्थियों को आगाह किया।

इसी सत्र में इंडिया टुडे के पूर्व संपादक श्री दिलीप मंडल ने पत्रकारिता में तेजी से हो रहे बदलावों का जिक्र करते हुए कहा कि वर्तमान दौर में मीडिया तकनीक बहुत तेजी से बदल रही है, इसके उपयोगकर्ता भी बदल रहे हैं। गूगल, फेसबुक, व्हाट्सएप और ट्विटर जैसे सोशल मीडिया प्लेटफार्म आपकी सर्च टेंडेंसी के आधार पर सामग्री परोस रहे हैं और उसी से जनमानस के विचार बन रहे हैं। उन्होने कहा कि समाज में ज्यादातर धारणाएं पत्रकारिता के विभिन्न टूल्स के उपयोग से बन रही हैं, विद्यार्थियों को इन टूल्स का सही उपयोग आना चाहिए।

इसी सत्र में गांधीवादी चिंतक और शिक्षक प्रो. अरुण त्रिपाठी ने गांधी दर्शन और विचार को मीडिया में स्थापित किए जाने की व्यावहारिक आवश्यकता पर बल दिया। उन्होने कहा कि सत्य ही पत्रकारिता का मूल ध्येय हो सकता है और इसकी स्थापना हर हाल में की जानी चाहिए। गांधी का पूरा जीवन सत्य का अन्वेषण है, सत्य की पत्रकारिता आपको कभी नहीं झुका सकती है।

तीसरे सत्र में “अनुभव कथन: मेरी कहानी” के अंतर्गत मीडिया क्षेत्र में कार्यरत विश्वविद्यालय के पूर्व विद्यार्थियों ने अपने अनुभव और संस्मरण सुनाए। इन विद्यार्थियों में जी-डिजीटल के ओपीनियन एडीटर पीयुष बवेले, एनडीटीवी की एंकर सुश्री अदिति राजपूत, न्यूज नेशन की एंकर सुश्री नैना यादव तथा कार्पोरेट कम्यूनिकेशन, ऑक्सफोर्ट यूनिवर्सिटी प्रेस के सीनियर एक्जीक्यूटिव आशीष चौहान ने अपनी बात कही और विद्यार्थियों की जिज्ञासाओं का समाधान किया।
