Congress National Spokesperson Jaiveer Shergill Address a Press conference on the breach of privacy by Modi government. #ChowkidarJasoosHai, He Says After Congress won in 3 assembly elections, BJP is taking extreme political measures to snoop into citizens' privacy, Modi Government issued a new order that permits 10 agencies to intercept information, Modi govt doesn't believe in democracy and is trying to change it into dictatorship,Modi govt had previously stated that there is no concept of fundamental right to privacy. This govt had also introduced 'Social Communication Hub' tool that is used to intercept and analyse social media platforms, Modi govt works on 3 'S' models--
•Data Snooping
•Data Stealing and
•Scaring the citizens of India
This new circular is unconstitutional, arbitrary, violative of the IT Act and Supreme Court judgement on privacy,
Sec.69 of IT Act states the criteria for this circular-
1. It cannot give sweeping general powers to snoop on general public
2. It can only be issued in public interest
3. It can only be issued to protect sovereignty and integrity of India
4. To prevent crime
We want to know in what public interest or which sovereignty is threatening India or which crime do the govt wants to prevent via this circular?
